Episode 19: Unharnessing Level Six Energy for Collaboration and Intuition.

Jodi & Judy Episode 19

What if the secret to transforming your life and work lies within a single mindset shift?" Join us, Jodi and Judy, as we explore level six energy within the Energy Leadership Index framework—a powerful state characterized by vision, intuition, and a deep sense of interconnectedness. We discuss how embracing this mindset can revolutionize both personal and organizational growth, fostering a culture where collaboration and creativity thrive over competition. By aligning missions and values with a greater purpose, individuals can experience a profound sense of flow and joy, redefining success as a collective achievement.

Throughout this episode, we share compelling stories of visionary leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Oprah, who exemplify level six energy in action, driving meaningful social change and inspiring others to follow suit. We also touch on more personal scenarios, like how parents can transform challenging relationships with their children by harnessing this energy to foster understanding and connection. As we dive into strategies for shifting into this empowering state, we revisit previous topics like positive intelligence and intuitive exercises that can help listeners align with their higher purpose, especially during times of crisis.

As we wrap up, we offer a glimpse into our next exciting topic: level seven energy, which represents the pinnacle of awareness and pure possibility within the Energy Leadership Index. Typically an organization that aligns their missions and values with their greater purpose. You can tell they're operating at a level six or where they create cultures that really thrive with collaboration and they value intuition, focusing on long-term impact and legacy rather than short-term gains.

Hi, welcome back to In your Head with Jodi and Judy. I'm Judy.

00:50 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
And I'm Jodi. We're thrilled to have you here for episode six as we continue our journey through the Energy Leadership Index.

00:58 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
That's right. If you've been with us so far, you know the ELI, as we call it for short, is an incredible tool for understanding how our energy affects the way we think, feel and act in different situations in work and life. Last time we dove into level five energy, and this is the place of innovation, opportunity driven energy that thrives on collaboration and win-win solutions.

01:23 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
So today we're going to move into the whole new level of level six energy, and this is where intuition, connection and that sense of a higher purpose really come into play. It's when we start seeing the big picture and recognize that we're all connected Right.

01:42 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
And, as always, remember that we're not locked into any one energy level. As we look at the Energy Leadership Index and how it impacts us in life, we shift throughout the day, based on our circumstances and mindset. The key here is being aware of where we are and intentionally accessing the energy level that best serves us and those around us so, in practice, you'll be able to access the level of energy that's going to best support you in whatever situation you're in at the moment.

02:11 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Absolutely so. Let's dive into level six and explore how it can transform the way we approach life and leadership.

02:19 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
Yeah. So what exactly? Let's take a look at what exactly level six energy is. So what exactly? Let's take a look at what exactly level six energy is At its core. Level six is about synthesis and vision. It's where you see the interconnectedness of all things and operate from a place of flow and intuition and really a deep sense of creativity.

02:39 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
That's right. It's level six. Energy transcends competition and any kind of individual agenda. It's about collaboration at the very highest level, and so it's where success isn't just about you or me. It's about all of us as a collective. So it's a we are one mindset.

03:00 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
Right, we talked before about you know. To give you an example, level three energy was all about you win, I win, survive with that energy, whereas level six is really not about winning at all. It's about coming together and creating something amazing together, and so that can maybe give you a little bit of a sense of the differences there. So let's break down the core thoughts, emotions and actions that one might experience at level six. So some core thoughts might be we're all connected and there's a greater purpose at work here. It's really feeling that greater sense of purpose within you and then also within the group you're in to work together towards something. Core emotions might be joy, peace and unconditional love. And then the actions and results. You know people operating this level six are deeply intuitive. They know how to access their intuition and they use that. They are visionaries, they're very, very collaborative. They leave a purpose and inspire others to achieve really meaningful big picture outcomes as well.

04:06 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Right. This energy really is transformative because it taps into something much bigger than ourselves. So it's about seeing the world as abundant, as interconnected, seeing possibilities everywhere.

04:21 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
Yeah, I like to think of it as it's that moment when you're so tuned into the bigger picture that everything feels aligned and harmonious. I don't know if you've ever felt that way there.

04:33
It happens very seldom for me, yeah, once in a while this energy is beautiful because you're no longer caught up in in judging or competing with others or anyone. You're really seeing everyone and everything is interconnected. And how can I work with this situation, with people here, in creating something really amazing. Yeah, yeah, it's very empowering. So let's talk about what it might sound like too. Here's some phrases that I think about when I think about level six. A question like how does this align with our greater purpose? If you're working in groups, someone might say I feel like this is the right direction. Let's trust the process. So, trusting the process, not knowing the how, not knowing the what is, but really using your intuition to guide you right, to trust that this is going to work out. Sometimes that's what a lot of leaders end up doing when there's a decision that could go either way, right, and then we're all in this together, right. Having that togetherness and that creation, let's focus on what's possible beyond the immediate situation.

05:43 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
That could be another thought. Yeah, as you're saying this, you can tell energy level six often sounds deeply intuitive and visionary, as you said before. So people that operate here speak from a place of real peace. They have a lot of clarity and again, that connection, yeah, absolutely Okay. So, judy, let's think like who really embodies level six energy in personal and in professional life.

06:12 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
Well, I think that great leaders are embodying and demonstrating this level of energy. People who operate with a strong sense of purpose and vision, again with their intuition. We talked about that. People can tap into their intuition and use it, Fostering a sense of unity and collaboration in your groups, finding joy and fulfillment in the journey, not just the outcome. That's huge, right? Yeah, how many?

06:36
of us go through life, you know, waiting for the, for the result of something, to feel happy. And you know, if we are happy, it's just fleeting. Level six is about enjoying the process, enjoying the discovery, enjoying the work and maybe enjoying the outcome as well. But it's not just about the outcome.

06:54 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Right, right, right. Those are great examples of how you can recognize an individual with level six. So, thinking about organizations that operate at a level six energy typically, an organization that aligns their missions and values with their greater purpose you can tell they're operating at a level six. Or where they create cultures that really thrive with collaboration and they value intuition, focusing on long-term impact and legacy rather than short-term gains. I think that is very much needed and very much missing in a lot of organizations. But now and then you do find them. And then organizations that really inspire employees and stakeholders with their vision, you know so that have the employees who are so bought into the mission and vision, they're inspired and they live it.

07:44 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
Yeah, I love that. I mean, really the driving belief here is we are all connected and together and we can create something extraordinary together. I mean, I wonder that could even be something like. That could be a mission statement for an organization and if they're living their mission statement, it could be a very cool place to work. Yeah, very much so.

08:09
Like with every energy level, level six has its upsides and its downsides or potential challenges. So I'm going to take a minute here and just run through some benefits of this level of energy. As you can imagine, there are broad and deep. So one benefit is that decisions are made with more clarity and alignment to a bigger purpose. When people are using that vision and intuition that comes from level six, right, we get better decision-making. Collaboration increases, you know. Naturally we're having deeper, more meaningful connections. That leads to that powerful co-creation in the things that we're striving for together. And then there's also the benefit of deeper sense of fulfillment and meaning. Right, because that purpose drives the meaning and fulfillment comes into play as well. So operating at this level brings about joy and peace, even in challenging times, and that can be difficult. But at level six you're transcending those challenges in order to get to a place of creation.

09:10 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, exactly, it sounds a little woohoo when you talk about it. I love it too, but it's, you know and I think some people it is it's a really hard place to get where you can move to that level and transcend that. So, as you mentioned, there's always downsides to this and I think anytime we get a little over-reliant on our intuition, we might make decisions that lack practicality if the intuition isn't balanced with logic. Very true, yeah, I think. Also detaching from the immediate concerns, like you can get so detached that you don't really see what the immediate concerns are and get so focused on the big picture you might neglect the details. It's also easy to get frustrated with those lower energy levels, so it's challenging to connect with people that operate at much lower levels when you're at such a high level of energy, so there can be a disconnection there.

10:09 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
You can actually create that at such a high level of energy so there can be a disconnection there. You can actually create that. Yeah, if you can imagine something really bad happens and you have one person who's thinking about co-creation from this challenging moment and people aren't quite there yet, right? Yeah, part of level six, as a leader or as a person, is to unify people to the purpose and to find ways to bring them to where you are before you launch into your co-creation. Yeah, exactly, the key, as you were talking about it here, is to integrate level six energy with other levels to create a balanced and effective approach. So, thinking about the other levels of energy, that's how you're going to help other people shift to meet you.

10:48
Where you are is understanding where they are with your knowledge of the six levels we talked about thus far and then trying to raise them, one level at a time, to where you are.

10:58 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
We'll talk about that too. One of the things that I think is interesting about dealing with people at different levels of energy when you've got somebody that's at a high level, like this, just as a low energy can bring us down, a high energy can bring us up, so it's really fun and interesting to watch the interplay when you've got somebody that's right way up there and out there and then somebody who's just nowhere near there, and how you see them kind of come closer together.

11:30 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
Yeah, yep, absolutely. So let's talk about some real life examples, like let's bring this, this level six energy, to life. So when we talk about a work life example, this could be something. So this is not happening in my life right now, but I'm just going to throw this out as an example of what that might resonate with you. So imagine that a CEO envisions a company that not only profits but also creates meaningful social impacts. There's lots of CEOs and leaders out there who are striving for this, so they inspire employees, partners, customers to join in on this mission and they therefore create this ripple effect of positive change. So there's a lot of organizations out there who strive to do this in their work. That's part of their mission statements, part of their goals and what they're delivering. Bottom line is always important, right, but also, you know, social impact and giving back as they say, more so now than ever, you know.

12:26 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
I can think of dozens of companies where you have no question what their purpose is and how they're creating meaningful social impact.

12:36 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
It is something that is increasing over time and it's really really good to see it. And then you know, thinking about a personal life, an example of what level six might look like in personal life. So imagine a parent navigating a challenging relationship with their teenager and that parent chooses to see the conflict that's come about in this relationship as an opportunity to deepen their understanding of their child, of their teen, and try to work to strengthen the bond, focusing on love and connection instead of focusing on their agenda of. You must do better. You behavior must change, whatever the situation is Right, you know, so often we're quick to I guess I should speak for myself I'm quick to jump in with my son and say, oh my gosh, you know, you, you, you trash the house again or whatever, right, yeah, and I'm so angry because I know how long it takes to clean, you know that kind of stuff.

13:34
And I know he's in and out of my house and you know out of sight, out of mind for him, right? And so you know, if I take a breather before I launch into my anger, right about the situation and really look at this from his perspective, that would be an example of trying to elevate into a level six, energy of you know understanding. You know that he just is forgetful or whatever it is. You know understanding where he's coming from, so that I can approach it in from that sense of trying to understand him rather than berating him because I'm upset that he did it again.

14:09 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I have incredible hindsight on this one because my kids are grown and gone. But, yeah, now I, you know, being able to look back and I look at all these opportunities that I might've had, you know, to really strengthen the understanding of what they were going through at different ages and that kind of thing.

14:28
Fortunately, they all turned out, but, you know, it's just knowing more about this. Now, boy, I wish I'd known about it when I was raising children, you know, and how I might've been able to use that. So there's so many different examples. Think about visionary leaders like Martin Luther King Jr, you know.

14:45
Or you mentioned Oprah you know, movements like the TED Talks, you know, those kind of things embody level six energy. Yeah, inspiring. They inspire connection, a shared sense of purpose. For me, anytime I engage in something, I consider a labor of love, which I feel, like many of us do things, that we're doing them for a greater purpose, like you know. Maybe they don't pay well, maybe you know we look back and maybe it wasn't worth the time, but at the time we get a real sense of purpose out of those things. That's when you're acting at a level six energy. I would agree. So I don't know if that really makes sense.

15:27 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
So these are just a few examples to highlight the power of level six energy. Really we can use it to create that meaningful lasting impact for ourselves and for others.

15:36 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Right. So let's talk about how to shift to a level six and to really harness that level six of level of energy. So if you tap into level six energy, here's a couple strategies. One is to connect, like reconnect to your purpose. Reflect on how the actions you're taking align with your higher purpose. Trusting your intuition that's a big one Just taking time to listen to the inner voice and trust your inner instincts.

16:07 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
Yeah, I mean, when you talk about that, jodi, that reminds me of you know, earlier in this podcast we were focused on positive intelligence and there's lots of overlaps between positive intelligence and the energy leadership index because they're both based in science, right. Right, but we went through. It was around our initial episode eight, where we were talking about positive intelligence. We talked about an exercise to really tap into your intuition and to go and imagine yourself at an older age and what was important to you, to kind of connect with that purpose right the wiser elder self.

16:44
Yes the wiser elder self and doing that and using that as a tool to connect with your deeper intuition and your sense of purpose. It is back in our podcast between episodes eight and nine. It's a special episode that you can catch there.

16:58 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Well, that's exactly what we're talking about, like listening to that inner voice, yeah, so whether that's the inner voice of your elder self, you know, but just trusting the instincts that you hear, trusting your, gut yeah, yeah, yeah, that's one way to do it.

17:12 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
There are other ways, but some other ideas, you know, for shifting into this energy is fostering connection, so especially important when you're trying to bring people to where you are. And it may be a crisis situation and you want to bring people into this state of co-creation, so you're looking for ways to create those deeper relationships and find the common ground. You know, if you could imagine there's some chaos and people aren't on board with where you are, you might say something like what if we were to? And then maybe say not be in this crisis situation and we had time to think this out and address this. I mean, I'm just throwing out a wild example, right, but like bringing people on board slowly, so and we had time to think this out and address this.

17:52
I mean, I'm just throwing out a wild example, right, yeah, but like bringing people on board slowly so that they can hopefully join you and get into that and you know, great things can come from that. Another idea is to expand your own perspective. So ask yourself, how does this situation right now fit into my bigger picture? Right, and so kind of looking at it from that standpoint, not looking at it as as in judging it for what it is, but looking how it fits into your larger purpose in your work and life.

18:18 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Yeah, I love that. Well, and remember, shifting to level six isn't about forcing something. It's about being open to the flow of life and trusting that you're part of something greater. That's really the whole key of level six. Absolutely, yeah. So let's kind of wrap this up and recap Again level six energy is about seeing beyond the immediate and connecting to the higher purpose. It's defined by intuition, being visionary, and it's deeply fulfilling.

18:51 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
Right, feeling that deep sense of fulfillment. Another thing I think that you might experience level six is losing all track of time. When you're immersed in something really cool or something you're really enjoying, you're wrapped up in it. This happens to me quite a lot and all of a sudden, two hours have gone by. What, how did that?

19:10 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
happen.

19:10 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
Yeah, that's an example.

19:12
When you're in the flow like that, that's a level six energy. Yeah yeah, yeah, that's good. So I would say, as you move through your day, think about how you can tap into this level six. You can use some of the examples we've talked about and also kind of reflect on what's your bigger purpose. You know, do some exercises, you can do writing exercises, you can go back and listen to our wiser elder self, exercise meditation to get into that. But really looking at how you can foster deeper connection and align your actions with your vision Very powerful.

19:46 - Jodi Hallerman (Co-host)
Right, right. So, and don't forget so, in our next episode we're going to explore level seven, energy, which is actually the top level. It's the pinnacle of Energy Leadership Index and it is about total awareness creation and pure possibility. So yeah, very fun one.

20:05 - Judy Gelniak (Co-host)
